What Is Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration?
30th Celebration is the special expansion marking 30 years of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. A few things make it different from a normal set release:
- Every card is foil. Every game card in a 30th Celebration booster pack is foil, including the Basic Energy card.
- 30 different Pikachu cards. Each booster pack guarantees one of 30 uniquely illustrated Pikachu cards, each by a different artist. Because packs are randomized, opening 30 packs doesn't guarantee all 30 — duplicates happen.
- A new rarity: Futuristic Rare. The set introduces the Futuristic Rare treatment, debuting on Mew and Mewtwo. The style — and the set's overall key visual — comes from Japanese artist YOSHIROTTEN.
- A Classic Collection. 30 reprinted cards spanning Base Set through today return with a gold-bordered "Classic Collection" treatment, including cards like Base Set Charizard and Base Set Pikachu. Worth noting for competitive players: returning classic cards aren't automatically Standard-legal just because they're reprinted here — legality still depends on the original card and current format rules.
What's Inside a 30th Celebration Booster Pack?
Each booster pack contains:
- 5 foil Pokémon TCG cards
- 1 foil Basic Energy card
- 1 guaranteed Pikachu card (one of the 30 unique designs)

Which 30th Celebration Product Should You Buy?
Most of these products share the same core booster packs — the difference is the promo cards, accessories, and format. Pick based on what you actually want, not on assuming each box is a different piece of the set:
| You want... | Get this | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Just to open packs | Booster Bundle | Six packs, minimal extras |
| A launch-day experience | Elite Trainer Box | Nine packs plus sleeves, dice, and accessories |
| A budget entry point | Mini Tin or 2-Pack Blister | Small, cheap, still gets you a Pikachu card |
| Something to actually play with | Espeon ex or Umbreon ex Battle Deck | Complete 60-card ready-to-play decks |
| A display piece | Mew or Mewtwo Figure Collection | Packs plus a promo card and sculpted figure |
| The biggest pack count | Ultra-Premium Collection | 30 packs total (29 regular + 1 Classic Collection), plus exclusive promos |
Is There a 30th Celebration Booster Box?
No traditional 36-pack booster box has been announced for the English retail release. Packs are distributed only through the products above — Elite Trainer Boxes, the Booster Bundle, Mini Tins, collection boxes, and the Ultra-Premium Collection. If you see a "30th Celebration booster box" listed anywhere, check carefully whether it's an official product or a seller-assembled bundle before buying.
If you want the most packs for your money in one purchase, the Ultra-Premium Collection (30 packs) or the Booster Bundle (6 packs, no premium markup) are your two real options.
