What Is Riftbound: Radiance?

Radiance is the fifth main set for Riftbound, the physical trading card game based on League of Legends, published by Riot Games and distributed through UVS Games. It follows Origins, Spiritforged, Unleashed, and Vendetta, and it's the last set scheduled for 2026.

Radiance carries a music theme across its card treatments and introduces 180 cards in total, including 66 Showcase cards (premium alternate-art versions) and nine new Legends. Three new Champions debut in the set: Seraphine, Evelynn, and Ekko.

When Does Riftbound: Radiance Release?

Riot has laid out a staged rollout rather than a single release-day drop. Here's the full confirmed timeline:

Phase Dates What Happens
Preview Season Sept 25 – Oct 9, 2026 Riot reveals new cards and mechanics ahead of launch. This wraps up today.
Pre-Rift Events Oct 16 – 22, 2026 In-store sealed events the week before launch, using limited Pre-Rift Event Kits. Store allocation only — ask us to reserve a seat.
Global Release October 23, 2026 Worldwide release in English, Simplified Chinese, and French. Booster boxes, Showdown Decks, and the Vault Bundle hit shelves.
Summoner Skirmish 1 Nov 9 – Dec 13, 2026 First organized-play season on Radiance, with its own promo (Ahri, Confident, awarded during Skirmish 2).
Summoner Skirmish 2 Dec 14, 2026 – Jan 17, 2027 Second organized-play season carrying Radiance into early 2027.

Note: a handful of outlets have listed October 26 instead of October 23 for the global release. Every retailer communication we've seen points to October 23, so that's the date we're building our in-store plans around — we'll update this post if that changes.

What's In the Box? The Full Radiance Product Lineup

Radiance ships in five distinct product types, each aimed at a different kind of player:

Product What's Inside
Booster Pack 14 cards: 3 foils (1 foil Common/Uncommon + 2 Rare-or-above slots) plus non-foil Commons and Uncommons.
Booster Display / Box 24 booster packs.
Showdown Deck: Seraphine vs. Evelynn Two ready-to-play 56-card preconstructed decks, two boosters, two playmats, two deckboxes, and a rules guide — built for two people to sit down and play immediately.
Radiance Vault Bundle 6 booster packs, 3 foil promo tokens, a full 36-Rune set, and a reusable storage box with dividers.
Pre-Rift Event Kit Store-exclusive allocation. Each of 16 player kits has a 15-card mini preconstructed deck (one of 9 champion variants), 5 boosters, and 1 promo card. Not sold individually — played in-store during Pre-Rift events.

Set-themed art sleeves and playmats are also expected alongside Radiance, following the pattern from Origins, Spiritforged, and Vendetta.

New Mechanics: Deploy, Show Off & Disarm Explained

Radiance isn't just new cards in old shells — it introduces three new keywords and two new card/token types. Based on preview material revealed so far (final wording may shift slightly with launch errata):

Deploy (Gear keyword)

Gear with Deploy skips your base entirely and goes straight onto a Battlefield, where it provides a persistent benefit for as long as it stays there. You can even Deploy onto a Battlefield your opponent controls — but if they hold that Battlefield, the Gear is destroyed. Some Deploy Gear (like The Good Stuff and Demacian Standard) returns to your hand instead of being destroyed, so you can replay it later. Jarvan IV and Ziggs both have Legend abilities that interact directly with Deploy.

Show Off (Reveal mechanic)

Show Off lets you reveal a qualifying card — from your hand or from your own board — to unlock a bigger version of the effect on the card you're playing. The revealed card isn't spent or discarded; the only cost is the information you give your opponent. Revealing something already on your board is the safer play, since it doesn't expose what's in your hand.

Disarm (combat keyword)

Disarm reduces an enemy Unit's Might while you're attacking. It stacks the same way Assault does, but it only works on offense — a Disarm Unit sitting on defense gets nothing from it. Clanging Sentry hands Disarm to all of your Mechs at once.

Equipment Units & Bomb tokens

Radiance also adds Equipment Units — Equipment cards that can transform into a Unit (automatically unequipping first, so you lose whatever buff it was giving). Orianna, Mechanical Marvel's Legend ability turns this on. Separately, Bomb tokens are a new token type tied to Ziggs, Short-Fused, with payoffs that scale the more Bombs you get into play.

New Champions & Legends in Radiance

Three Champions make their Riftbound debut in Radiance:

  • Seraphine, Starry-Eyed Songstress (also appears as Seraphine, Not Alone)
  • Evelynn, Agony's Embrace (also appears as Evelynn, In Control)
  • Ekko, Ingenious

Beyond the three Champions, Radiance adds nine new Legends overall, each with an Overnumbered variant and some with signed versions available as higher-end pulls. Every new Legend also gets a seeded pack inside the Pre-Rift Event Kits, so players at our Pre-Rift event will get a shot at pulling one before the set is even on shelves.

A few cards already generating buzz from preview coverage: The Good Stuff, Portable Portal, and Trifarian Captain as strong low-rarity picks, and Packed Amphitheater as the set's Ultimate Rare chase card, estimated at roughly 1-in-4,000 packs.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does Riftbound: Radiance officially release?
October 23, 2026, worldwide, in English, Simplified Chinese, and French. Pre-Rift sealed events run the week before, October 16–22.

Is Radiance the fourth or fifth Riftbound set?
It's the fifth main set overall — Origins, Spiritforged, Unleashed, and Vendetta came before it in 2026. Some coverage calls it "the third set of 2026" because they're not counting Origins, so you may see both numbers used.

How many cards are in the Radiance set?
180 cards total, including 66 Showcase (premium alternate-art) cards.

How many cards come in a Radiance booster pack?
14 cards per pack: three foils (one foil Common/Uncommon plus two Rare-or-above slots) and the rest non-foil Commons and Uncommons. A booster display/box holds 24 packs.

What new Champions are in Radiance?
Seraphine, Evelynn, and Ekko all make their Riftbound debut, alongside nine new Legends overall.

What do Deploy, Show Off, and Disarm actually do?
Deploy sends a Gear card straight to a Battlefield for a persistent effect instead of your base. Show Off lets you reveal a qualifying card to unlock a bonus effect without spending it. Disarm lowers an enemy Unit's Might, but only while you're attacking. See the mechanics section above for the full breakdown.

Is there a Starter Set or beginner box for Radiance?
Radiance's beginner-friendly option is the Showdown Deck: Seraphine vs. Evelynn — two complete, ready-to-play decks plus playmats and a rules guide. If you want a more general introduction to the game first, the Proving Grounds Box Set (from an earlier set) is built specifically for new players.

What's in the Radiance Vault Bundle?
Six booster packs, three foil promo tokens, a full 36-card Rune set, and a reusable storage box with dividers.

What's the chase card in this set?
Packed Amphitheater is the set's Ultimate Rare, estimated at roughly 1-in-4,000 packs. The Good Stuff, Portable Portal, and Trifarian Captain are also getting attention as strong low-rarity cards.

Can I play in a Pre-Rift event at New Realm Games?
Yes, contact the shop to reserve a spot. Pre-Rift Event Kits are allocated to us in limited quantity, so seats are first-come, first-served.

Where can I pre-order Riftbound: Radiance in Vaughan or the GTA?
